The lake is situated at the heart of the city and also heart shaped constructed by Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah and was named after Hussain Shah Wali is considered as one of the best lakes in Hyderabad. It is boundaried by many parks and divides Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The Tankbund adjacent to the lake gives us an astonishing view of the lake so is the Necklace road on the other side of the lake. The road was named as the entire stretch of the roads surrounding the lake appears as a necklace. The necklace road also consists of many eateries such as eat street, Water front, The Ohris 1857 and 70 MM (a concept based restaurant). Jalavihar Water park is also situated on the Necklace road. One can easily spend an entire evening at this juncture.

Buddha Status: In the middle of the lake, there stands a monolithic statue of Gautama Buddha on a Gibraltar rock. There is a boating service from Lumbini park to Buddha statue. The statue in the lake resembles the statue of Liberty in the middle of the Hudson River of New York.

The very old garden, also known as Bagh-e-Aam (Bagh in Urdu/Hindi means garden and Aam means common i.e. garden for the common public), was built in 1846. Telangana Legislative Assembly, State archaeological museum and open air auditorium Lalitha Kala Thoranam are located here. It is used as a recreational park even in the modern times. Nampally railway station is hardly a kilometer or 2 from here. Ticket fares are Rs. 20 for adult and Rs. 10 for child.

It was the only reputed park other than Public Gardens. This park also is a home for wide variety of Flora and there is also a nursery here. The dietary fruits and vegetables are sold here especially to the morning walkers. There is a boating facility which is as usual. Ticket charges are nominal and negligible. The cement benches facing the pond gives a delight to the visitors.
